Oh, here’s the proper thing.
It’s Facial Hair Friday at the National Archives, and we’re featuring this rare photograph of future President Harry Truman with a mustache. The staff at the Truman Presidential Library only know of two photographs of Truman sporting facial hair, including this one. They also found a letter that Truman wrote to his wife, mentioning his “”right hefty mustioche.” Read the full story and see the letters on the Prologue blog.

Eisenhower served as Truman’s chief of staff following World War II, and in 1951 became the first supreme commander of NATO in Europe. But during the presidential campaign of 1952, Truman supported the Democratic candidate running against Eisenhower, Adlai Stevenson. -
